Keep the VPN running for as long as your Steam client is open. MAKE SURE you're still on the VPN when you restart Steam. If the game fails to launch for any reason, close and restart Steam, ensuring it has an opportunity to download any patches. Once the game has decrypted and finished patching, simply hit 'Play' and you're ready to go. This will be slower than usual because you're on a VPN. The game files will decrypt and a small patch will be downloaded. Steam will 'think' you're in Japan, and the 'Pre-Load' button on Sekiro's library page will become 'Play'. I'm personally using a paid NordVPN subscription, but there are many alternatives, including free alternatives. Pre-order the game as usual in your regular Steam store. To achieve this, we use a VPN to fake our location. We're doing this by 'tricking' Steam into thinking that we're in Japan, where the game is already unlocked and available for play. Many people are asking how some people (outside of Japan) are already playing the game on Steam.
